After a photograph of the above pilot on No.218 (Gold Coast) Squadron. He was one of the squadrons biggest jokers and got himself in a number of tight spots with his commanding officer and station commander, a real joker who poked two fingers up at authority. Completed a first tour of 38 operations.
There is a famous photo of this mad aussie and his crew currently in a few pubs around Downham Market. They are standing in line drinking mugs of tea on return from an operation !!

I had a look into the Australian War Memorial site and they don't have a photo of him. However if you go to the National Archives of Australia and search by his number 420295 his service file is there which has not been put on line as yet, it may contain a photo of him.
