I was amazed to come across your post. My uncle was your Dad's navigator through-out their entire operational tour (according to his flight log). Pls e-mail me at Permia@live.com and perhaps we could exchange information and photos (of which I have a couple).

Hi, my Uncle was F/S Melvin Osborne Orr, who perished in the PB 465 crash. Do you have any pictures of the nose art of this machine?

Yes I do have pictures of the nose art. In fact I can do better than that - I have wartime shots (b&w of course) of the nose art on the aircraft and you are most welcome to scans of that. However, some years ago it occurred to me that I had never seen a colour rendition of the nose art and I asked my mother whether she could draw me a copy. She was a remarkable artist and did so from memory in the space of about half an hour! Obviously I have that also, and again you are most welcome to a scan of it.
