166sqdn lost four aircraft on this operation, and as you have already stated, Sgt Gammage was on board ED731, AS-Q, which was captained by F/O T.L.W Teasdale, RCAF.

The aircraft crashed near Kempen, according to info from BC Losses, and only one of the crew survived, F/O J.B. Auld, RCAF. From the details i've found in the ORB, it would appear that Leslie was unfortunatley, not due to fly that night, as the crew he was lost with, was not his normal crew. It looks as though he stood in for the the W/Operator of Teasdales crew for reasons not known, but possibly through sickness. Leslie's own crew were not scheduled to fly that night.
