I am looking for advice from the members of this forum. In july of this year my wife and I plan to visit England and France to retrace the path of my father. My father,RCAF F/Sgt. Allan Harpell, served with 49 Sqn and 424 Sqn during World War Two. On July 18 he took off from Fiskerton and was shot down over France. With the aid of the French resistance he evaded capture and returned to England. We would like to hear any advice members of the forum may have for us that would aid in our journey. My email is tharpell@sympatico.ca Thank you in advance, yours truly Tom Harpell
Hello Dave, Thanks for the info. I don't have a copy but I would very much like to get a copy. Can you tell me how to go about getting a copy? Thanks again, cheers, Tom
It would be interesting to contact the WW2 Escape Lines Memorial Society. They have research teams with expertise on escapers and evaders. There are also the following sources: Book - RAF Evaders - Oliver Clutton-Brock Website - http://www.conscript-heroes.com
