Trying to build wartime history of my father-in-law Sgt. (later P/O) Roy Evrard LAKIN (now deceased) as B/Nav attached to 166 Squadron in 1943 thru' 1944.

From his log book bequeathed to me, he successfully completed 2 tours of operations, plus 2 'special duty' operations, in Wellingtons and Lancasters.

If anyone has information, or would like to know Roy's operational history, I would love to hear from them.

Flying colleagues included:

F/O GRAHAM

F/S NOWOGIN

P/O HOBSON

P/O DUBOIS

F/O GILLHAM

W/C AMERY

Thank you B. I sent an email.

From what I gather, Roy trained in Picton Ontario then went on Ansons flown by Sgts Scott, Wilson, Haynes, Johnson, Bennet and many more.

He was later on Wellingtons flown by F/O Graham (Y207, Q643, Z742, S643, W239, X149, U328, Q502, Y144) and on Lancs with F/Lt Graham (Lancaster A, B, C, D, F, H, I, J2, Q and S).

He flew on 2 Special Ops with W/C Amery (Lancaster B) to Berlin and Essen.

Thanks,

Bob
