I am Colin Scragg's grandson.  Just happened to be googling my grandfather's name to see if anything came up and saw your post.  If you still want more information my father may be able to help you.  If you would like me to put you in touch with him let me know(I know for example he has old log books of his father).

Wing Commander Colin Scragg AFC, Commanding Officer 166 Squadron Missing 14.01.44 Brunswick

Hello Charles, I have just read your post about your Grandfather. I am researching a reference book on 166 Squadron and would very much like to contact your father. I have quite a lot of information about the crew, including some documents dealing with your Grandfather's time as a POW. Could you please email me directly on mjc41uk@yahoo.co.uk I would be very grateful.

Charles,

I too would be very keen to do some research on your Grandfather's service.  I am researching the pilots who flew the aeroplanes whose restorations I am involved in at present.  I understand that, while an NCO pilot pre-war, your Grandfather was the regular pilot of Sir Philip Sassoon's dH Dragonfly.  I would be particularly interested to learn if he had ever flown Sir Philip's Percival Q6 as we are working towards this aeroplane's return to airworthiness.

Hi

I am interested in the loss of DV404 ON 14/1/1944 and I am intrigued by the reference to thoughts and memories of the crew-particular Frank Claydon ( listed as Clayton) a much missed father who was relatively old at 35 when he was lost. Can you assist?

Many thanks

Chris
