Hello,

I have just signed up to this forum and am amazed at the wealth of knowledge here.

I am looking into information on my Great Uncle, Ernest Kingham who was Pilot/ Officer of LL690 which crashed on 16th June 1944 just outside Iwuy.

I would love to hear from anybody with information or pictures.

Regards

Richard Kingham

Hi Richard,

514 Sqn Lancaster LL690 was most likely shot down by Oblt Peter Ehrhardt of 9./NJG5 ay Cambrai-Lille-Valenclennes at 00.52 for his 18 victory of the war. He would survive the war with 20 night victories and 1 day victory. All 7 of the crew were killed.

Good luck with your research.

Cheers,

John.

Hi Richard,

I've already been in contact with Hanna about your uncle, I've made research about LL690 for 5 years and I'm living not far from the crash site (less than 1 km) in the village of Iwuy. I've sent Hanna all the informations I have last January.

If your need more informations let me know throught this forum.

Best regards

Michel
