Looking for Details on Lancaster Code XY-S
Permalink

Hello all,

What a fantastic forum this is.  I was wondering if anyone had any details of a Lancaster with Code XY-S.  I have a photo of what I believe may be the flight crew (including my grandad) in from t of the majestic plane, and just trying to see what info I can track down.

Hello Maple,

To start things off, the code XY was the squadron code for 186 squadron, which had formed from C Flight of 90 Squadron in October 1944.

I'm sure others will be along to offer more details.

Regards,

Wayne.
