last weekend we found the crashsite from a Lancaster MK-1 in the area of Duisburg / Moers in germany.....
On the crashsite we found a lot of dural-parts with part-numbers 129.... and 329...., a navigation-calibration-plate with REF-number, some other parts....
the wreckparts found on a great area, so we think this airplane explodet in the air before crash on earth.
we think its the Avro-Lancaster Mk-1, NG 133 / BQ-F2, from 550th sqdr, r a f.
Lost on 14.10.1944 / enemy Flak / 9.15 local-time
the Lancaster explodet in the air, pilot A.Abrams survived and became POW, all other crewmembers died......
