Sgt Derek Paul Watson-Parker (741702) was killed 30/01/1940, according to the CWG register he was with 1 AONS. He is however listed on
http://www.156squadron.com/101Sqn/search_rollofhonor.asp as being with 101 squadron. I can't find him in Chorley. I don't have the 101 ORBS for 1939/40 so can't check to see if he was on 101 at some time.
He was on No. 101 Sqn at the time. The ORB's entry says 31.1.40 Sgt D.P. Wilson-Parker, attached to AONS Prestwick to fly observers under training, was killed in a flying accident near Aldergrove.

Thank you for this information. It has resolved a puzzle that has exhausted my google skills! I suppose as 1 AONS was not part of Bomber Command he's not listed in Chorley and the loss card was raised by 1 AONS. He must have been one of the earliest 101 casualties. I have an AC2 PETER JOHN HANLEY ROWE as the first casualty he's listed by CWGC as 101 again Chorley does not list but his might have been a non flying incident or again a temporary transfer.

The problem with the list you're quoting from is that there are a fair number of mistakes. Robin Riley, the webmaster, passed away last year so no idea if someone is going to carry it on.
http://www.156squadron.com/101sqn/view_aircrew.asp?pCrewId=16408 A CWGC typo that was fixed in 2010 but a man who flew Spitfires with No. 401 RCAF Squadron is now remembered as a Wellington crewman.
Rowe. I suppose the answer may lie in the RAF W. Raynham Station ORB. The 101 ORB shows nothing unusual that day and the days before are all training flights with no mishaps.
On a more positive note, information wise, of the nine men killed in the RAF on 31 January 1940, two were navigators under training and judging from the closeness of their service numbers pretty good chums.

You are spot on, there are a lot of anomalies in the 156-101 data. I have "extracted" the 101 data from 156-101 Tole of Honour, 156-101 crewlists,aircrewrembered, and CWGC.
I am in the process of comparing them. Not an easy task!.
