Hi,

I am a Canadian researcher and am doing a research project. I  am looking for information and a photo of two crew members of the Halifax L 9561 "H" which departed from Middleton St.George on October 12th 1941 and was shot down the same day above The Netherlands. The pilot was killed, but the crew managed to bail out and was taken prisoner by the Germans and sent to Prisoner of war camps in Germany.

The crew members are:

Sgt. Leslie Albert Roberts, service no.565746

Sgt. George Henry Patterson, service no. 943602

Leslie Albert Roberts stayed with the RAF and retired with the rank of Squadron leader. His last tour was at RAF base Quedgely near Gloucester.

He passed away on March 19th 2007 in Gloucester.
